Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 1999 2:22 AM Subject: T+13, early morning, another special report I noted in my previous message that my white cell count had risen as of this morning T+12) to over 1, and speculated that this might mean that the donor stem cells had grafted, and were starting to reproduce. I brought this up with the doc on the morning rounds. He stated that the white cell count of 1.2 is indeed real. Further, this had additional implications. First, conversations with him earlier in the week indicated that the white cell counts would probably increase in me by Thursday at the earliest, and most likely over the weekend. Instead, they likely began within one day. He further stated that the early and rapid growth of whites generally indicates that they will reach higher levels relatively soon. He said that this means that I am a good candidate for an early out-patient release from the hospital, possibly as early as this Friday. I may be in the apartment in 3 days! All of this depends on my continued good health and satisfactory blood tests. Keep your fingers crossed.
